I’ve run two marathons and raised nearly $20,000 for the Los Angeles LGBT Center since March 2023. This is part of my “Run Joe 42” campaign, which set the ambitious goal of running four marathons and raising $42K for the Center between my 42nd and 43rd birthday in March 2024.

I selected San Francisco, Chicago, and Los Angeles as three of my four cities to run as I’ve lived in each, and hoped to get into NYC through a charity raffle but was unsuccessful. So, now with San Francisco and Chicago successfully under my belt, I’m headed full throttle towards the LA Marathon finish line and the end of this campaign on March 17th.
I’m feeling good about completing 26.2 miles on the streets of LA, but am concerned about meeting my fundraising goal of $42K. The only way I will hit my fundraising target is if my friends and family give generously.
